Luis was born in the small Island of the
Dominican Republic. At the age of
12 he learned how to sew at his Uncle's taylor shop .In 1966, at the age of 15,
he went to New York where he continued working as a part time taylor to finance his study and help his mother with expenses.
In 1978 he left the United State and traveled to Europe. There in Munich Germany he opened his first Leather shop. While
living in Germany, he studied to be a Designer and Pattern Maker. In 1998 he returned to the United States and began work
on his own unique timeless collection.
Different to most designes that can only sketch their collection,
Luis
is able to design, make his own patterns,and create the kind of quality work that he hoped for the design.
